SUMMARY:Walk the Blindfold Mile - Saturday 18th April 2020
DESCRIPTION:Imagine going about your world with sight loss.\nSight Concern Worcestershire are inviting people to get involved in an unusual and memorable event\, Walk the Blindfold Mile\, across Worcester City Centre\, on Saturday 18th April 2020\, 10am. \nYou will walk in pairs\, one blindfolded\, one sighted\, along a designated route\, starting from Sight Concern’s Bradbury Centre on Sansome Walk and taking in the High Street and Worcester Cathedral. Your partner will guide you and you can swap over along the way. There will be a number of blindfolded challenges to complete\, such as buying and drinking a cup of coffee. There will be activities at Cathedral Square\, including a penalty shoot out and using a white cane. \nFriends\, family\, companies and schools are all invited to take part to experience some of the challenges that blind and partially sighted people overcome each day. We will show you what you need to do to guide someone safely. DESCRIPTION:We are very excited to be participating in the award-winning Pershore Plum Festival this Bank Holiday Monday! Come along for the whole weekend or join us on Plum Fayre Day\, the ‘pinnacle of the Plum Festival’\, as the Abbey bells ring in celebration.  \nThere will be a huge variety of trade stands and activities at the festival\, from a climbing wall and pony rides to WWII exhibitors.  \nOur Volunteer Coordinator\, Cat\, will be on our Sight Concern stand in the Plum Bazaar (a.k.a. St Andrew’s Garden!) from 9.30-5pm – look out our for our blue gazebo and the Sight Concern logo! Come and have a chat with her to find out more about what we do\, the volunteering opportunities we have available in your area and the many ways in which you can get involved.
