Health and Wellbeing

Alternative and Beauty Therapies

At the Bradbury Centre we offer regular alternative therapies for people with sight problems provided by qualified practitioners.

These therapies including Reiki, Reflexology, Aromatherapy and Swedish massage. We also have a beauty therapist and can bring in the services of a Chiropodist by appointment.

We feel that by being able to offer these opportunities in a safe neutral environment, the benefits to well being are far greater than having to access them in the general community.

 Gentle exercise classes

is a gentle exercise class set to music aimed at the over 65s and those who are less able. The classes are generally done in a seated position and involve small, non impact movements. The idea behind &prime&primeExtend&prime&prime is to increase mobility and independence, improve strength, co-ordination and balance.

Gym

Within the Bradbury Centre we have a small gym which is run and maintained by Robert Neil, a qualified gym instructor who is visually impaired himself. We can offer one-on-one or small group sessions depending on your needs and programmes can be developed according to each persons own ability.

Transport

In some cases it is possible for Sight Concern to arrange transport to the centre for these sessions. Please get in touch with us for more details about this.
