Sight Loss Awareness Training
This service is available to any organisation including businesses, public bodies, charities etc. Sight Concerns trustees, staff and volunteers also benefit from this training.
What Does it Cover?
Our standard training sessions cover the following:
- An Overview of our Services
- Information about common eye conditions
- Communication techniques
- Aids and equipment demonstration
- Activities using simulation spectacles
- Sighted Guide Training
We can tailor make a training package for your needs, adding additional areas of special interest such as helping people get in and out of cars for Taxi Drivers, or making written information accessible for Solicitors.
Or you can send individuals along to join our standard training sessions; these take place at least four times a year.
People who attend the training tell us they have a much greater awareness of the issues that blind and partially sighted people face each day and an improved understanding of how to assist, guide and support them.
Where and When?
Training can be arranged to suit your needs, we can offer a full or half day. Training can be provided at your premises or at the Bradbury Centre, our Resource Centre in Worcester City or we can hire a venue.
Please see our list of upcoming standard training courses for more information.
How Much Will It Cost?
This varies upon the nature of the training, your specific requirements and your own circumstances.
